FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota State University women's volleyball team is hoping to end a recent history of NCAA tournament losses to Minnesota.
The Bison meet the Gophers Friday night in a first-round matchup in Minneapolis. Minnesota has beaten NDSU in straight sets in their previous two tournament meetings.
NDSU is part of the 64-team national tournament field for the third time in four years. The Bison enter the playoffs having won 10 straight matches. Minnesota has won three straight and starts the tournament with the No. 13 seed.
The winner takes on either Western Michigan or Washington on Saturday.
The national championship match is Dec. 17 in San Antonio.
