MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A Mandan man plans to change his pleas on misdemeanor charges related to an October 2010 shooting that killed one man and injured another.
The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/tJiPpZ ) that Nicholas Reed is scheduled to plead guilty during a hearing Thursday to charges of hindering law officers and giving them false information.
Reed is accused of hiding a gun that officers say was used in the shooting, and giving officers inaccurate information.
Police say the shooting that killed 22-year-old Xavier Thompson was sparked by an argument over an iPod music player during a party at Reed's home. Twenty-six-year-old Steven Voegele (VOH'-guhl) is to stand trial next week on felony charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and terrorizing. Authorities say Thompson and Voegele shot one another.
