A Fargo woman critically injured 20 years ago in a car accident is now a successful author of Children's Plays, with a theme growing in popularity. Annie Hough has never let disabilities from that accident ever spoil dreams.

If there is anyone who is enjoying our non-winter so far, it is Annie Hough. She daily rides her bike in downtown Fargo as part of her daily fitness routine. While she is well known to YMCA members and staff, Annie is making a name for herself on stage; not as an actress, but as an author, and playwright.

Since her accident 20-years ago, Annie has gone on to get masters from the U of M in Horticulture. Little did she know, she would use that degree to write children's plays. More specifically, plays about the environment and ecology surrounding children, from forests and orchards to wetlands.

Annie Hough – Author and Playwright: “It is really fun; I like the research I like the writing.”

They are performing Annie's plays even in Australia. The children have even sent her photos from the event.

Annie Hough: “My big dream was New York and Broadway, but this Australia thing surpasses anything.”

Annie is researching and working on yet another play for children. Proof perseverance and determination play out in the most unique ways. One of Annie's recent plays will be performed next week in Victoria, Australia.
