West Acres sees record visitors on Black Friday

West Acres Mall saw a record number of visitors over the Thanksgiving holiday. 80,000 people visited the stores on Black Friday, breaking the 2008 record of 75,000. That's a 7% increase. 33 stores opened at midnight, up from eight last year. Good weather also played a factor in the increased foot traffic. But officials say the shopping season is just getting started.

Rusty Papacheck – West Acres General Manager” ”It is just a start; it doesn't always dictate how the season goes. We still have 28 days of shopping left and we just need to carry the momentum into the holiday season.”

The sales numbers are not in yet. But judging from the foot traffic, Papechek expects them to be high.
