Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Shoppers in Moorhead are taking care of more than just holiday shopping at the mall.
They can also buy their 2012 pet licenses. City law requires all dogs and cats over six months old to be licensed every year, by February 15th. The cost is two dollars for spayed and neutered pets. Five if not. Buying a pet license can save money in the long run.
Jill Ulrich, Moorhead police volunteer, says, “It is a fifty dollar fine for not having your dog licensed if they are impounded, first time impound fee is 30 dollars so if your pet is picked up by animal control and impounded then they can help locate the owner.”
The next Pet licensing event will be on December 3rd at Sunmart in Moorhead.
