An old fashioned feeling in small town Minnesota gets shoppers in the holiday spirit. More than 1,000 people lined Main Street in Pelican Rapids for the 16th Annual Lighted Horse Parade. The old time parade has grown from 7 to 27 units. No single riders or mechanical vehicles are allowed, only teams of horses from Clydsdales to Percherons, and Belgiums. Wagons are decorated with lights, decorations, even a live nativity scene. Teamsfrom as far as Barnesville take part in the authentic parade.
Amanda Stenstrom – Pelican Rapids: “I like the horses and maybe that's what would draw people and I know like tonight it's a nice night because there's been some nights that have been really cold.”
That parade started as a way to get people to town to shop locally. Perham also had its holiday parade tonight.
