FINLEY, N.D. (AP) — Officials in the eastern North Dakota town of Finley were forced to postpone an election this week when they couldn't find enough people to work at the polling site.

Residents were to vote Tuesday on whether to double the community's 1 percent sales tax to raise repair money for street lights and the water tower in the town of about 450 people.

Mayor Larry Amundson tells the Grand Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/uCNZLg ) that the city couldn't find enough workers because of the Thanksgiving holiday. The election has been rescheduled for Jan. 17.
