RAY, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a 60-year-old Minnesota man died in a crash when his sports utility vehicle traveled through a field and jumped a North Dakota state highway.
The Highway Patrol says Hubert Durant, of Ironton, Minn., was dead at the scene of Sunday's rollover accident, about 4 miles west of Ray.
The patrol says Durant's vehicle left a Williams County road and went about three-quarters of a mile through a field before it struck the south ditch of Highway 2 at high rate of speed. The vehicle jumped the eastbound lane and touched down on the shoulder of the westbound lane.
The crash remains under investigation.
