Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - A year ago, the Bison football team saw it's first postseason come to an end, 11-hundred miles away on a snowy day on red turf against Eastern Washington.

This postseason, the only traveling NDSU will have to do is to Frisco, Texas if they reach the National Championship. NDSU found out this morning that it will be the number 2 seed in the playoff field. Undefeated Sam Houston State holds the top spot.

The Bison will have a first round bye, and home-field advantage through the semifinal round, and a potential to play three postseason home games. Perrenial powers Georgia Southern and Appalachian State are also on NDSU's half of the bracket.

Surprisingly the only other Missouri Valley team to get in, is Northern Iowa who will host Wofford in the second round. Meanwhile, NDSU will play at the Fargodome Saturday December 3rd against the winner of Eastern Kentucky and James Madison.

CRAIG BOHL - 2nd straight trip to FCS Playoffs: “I don't know which team we're going to be playing, but I do know that we will be playing a very capable football team. We're excited that we have a bye week. I think it's important to get some practice time for some of our players. But, I also think it's important for us to get some guys some rest.”

MATT VELDMAN - 3 TD catches this season: “We have an extra week to prepare for an opponent. When we played against Minnesota, I think that helped us out a lot. I tell you what, it's nice to be able to potentially play three at the dome.”

Tickets went on sale this afternoon, on-line at GoBison.com. You can purchase them at the ticket office in the Bison Sports Arena as soon as tomorrow morning.
