Jamestown, ND (WDAY TV) - A bizarre sight shut down I-94 in Stutsman County for some of the morning. A herd of cattle got loose, then roamed the roadway.

The incident happened near the Spiritwood exit around 5:30. A Montana man hauling 39 cattle to Minnesota rolled a semi in the median.

Eight cattle died. The surviving cattle wandered the ditches, median, and interstate. It took nearly six hours for farmers and authorities to corral all the cattle.
