Many New Americans were among more than 100 hungry people eating an early Thanksgiving supper at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. The 2nd annual dinner was for refugees forced from their homes for religious, political, or ethnic reasons. Most came to Grand Forks in the past year from Nepal. Up until now, they lived in refugee camps for 10 to 20 years.
Pastor Paul Trenne – St. Mark’s Lutheran Church: “We hope in doing this that we move from being strangers to neighbors and maybe even friends.”
80 thousand refugees flee to America every year.
