The Jamestown School Board is voting to move ahead with discharging a high school teacher charged with sexually assaulting a child. Richard Laqua is accused of touching a 17 year-old's buttocks and sending her sexually explicit text messages.
Board members went into executive session during a special meeting tonight. They'll now get in touch with the administrative law judge office in Bismarck. That office will then set a date and time for a hearing to consider discharging Laqua. Laqua has taught at the James Valley Career and Technology Center for 23 years.
