A south Fargo couple has donated their 35 foot tall Colorado Blue Spruce to the city to become the holiday tree. It was cut down and put in place in front of the Depot.

Tom Hurley – Donated Tree: "Well they came and took our tree for the Christmas tree in Fargo."

Grace Hurley – Donated Tree: "Well we've been talking about taking it out because it's outgrown the space over here. And kind of postponed it as long as we could but I tried to call the park district and get a hold of Jeff a couple three weeks ago and said we have a beautiful Christmas tree for them if they wanted to look at it and he did and said it was the best one they had. So we're thrilled about that."

Mike: "When you originally planted it how big was it?"

Tom: "About two and a half feet."

Grace: "Well Jeff gave me I guess so he said about 35 feet is what he thought."

Mike: "Did you guys ever decorate the tree?"

Grace: "I did, yes when it was when I could stand on a chair and put the lights on it I did, but after that we just gave up on it."

Mike: "What's the one thing you're looking forward to seeing?"

Grace: "Just having a lot of people enjoying it.”
