GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Grand Forks woman is accused of trying to bribe a North Dakota Highway Patrol officer after her arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Grand Forks woman is accused of trying to bribe a North Dakota Highway Patrol officer after her arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.
The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/tNeKM4 ) that 33-year-old Laura Jelinek was stopped Nov. 4 on Interstate 29 near Thompson. She allegedly offered the arresting officer as much as $1,000 to let her go home.
Jelinek declined comment. She faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted on the felony bribery charge.
