A Minnesota man has been arrested for attempting to rob the McDonald's near West Acres with a handgun. 30 year-old Andrew Salus from Duluth is accused of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and preventing arrest. So far, he has not been booked at the Cass County Jail.

Two brave employees stopped the suspect from making it away with money, but police say their lives are worth far more than the money they were fighting for.

Police say when they arrived they found two victims who work here scuffling with the suspect in the kitchen. Lieutenant Vettel with the Fargo Police Department says Salus showed a handgun and demanded money, but they're still trying to figure out what happened from there.

Lt. Joel Vettel – Fargo Police: "We are still trying to nail down the timeline of the incident."

One of two employees in that fight had a broken bone. The suspect had a cut on his head, and burns on his body.

Lt. Joel Vettel: "The oil from one of the fryers apparently got onto the suspect's body."

Vettel says the employees took a huge risk by stopping the suspect.

Lt. Joel Vettel: "It comes down to a life and death situation and you feel like you have to fight, fight. But if its just coming down to money, then our estimation is that it is not worth it."

One employee and Salus were taken to the hospital. The McDonald's store manager told us the employees are doing well.
