(WDAY TV) - A sentencing date is set for the Underwood, Minnesota man who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. 24-year old Benjamin Stavaas will be sentenced on December 15th.
He could get a year in jail. Since Stavaas has already served 6 months, he could be out in the middle of 2012.
Stavaas admits to slashing his dog Star's throat twice in 2010 after the one year old chased a car. Stavaas fled the state before a court hearing and was later arrested in Colorado on burglary charges.
