Stanley-Powers Lake beats Linton-HMB for 11A title
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Abraham Roehrich rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns as Stanley-Powers Lake capped an unbeaten season with a 42-6 win over Linton-HMB Friday in the North Dakota 11A football championship game.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Abraham Roehrich rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns as Stanley-Powers Lake capped an unbeaten season with a 42-6 win over Linton-HMB Friday in the North Dakota 11A football championship game.
Roehrich scored on runs of 62 and 8 yards for the Blue Jays (12-0), who won their first title since 2002. Stanley-Powers Lake, Velva and Harvey are the only schools to win Class A titles since the four-class system was adopted in 1997.
Landon Smith added 100 yards and two scores for Stanley-Powers Lake. The Jay rolled up 358 yards on the ground, while holding the Lions (10-2) to 150 total yards.
The Blue Jays took control in the first half and led 28-6 at the break.
Cody Sehn had Linton-HMB's only TD on a 3-yard run.
