58-year-old New Ulm man dies in tractor accident

NEW ULM, Minn. (AP) — The victim of a tractor accident has been identified as a 58-year-old New Ulm man.

Alan Brandel was driving an open-cab tractor east on Highway 27 near New Ulm at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday when he was struck from behind by a pickup.

The New Ulm Journal reports (http://bit.ly/rGxjap ) Brandel was thrown from the tractor onto the road, where he was struck by a second eastbound pickup.
