The Tracy Zornes trial is now in the hands of the 12 person jury. Prosecutors say the 39 year-old Zornes killed two people in south Moorhead in February, 2010.
After six days of testimony, Judge Vaa handed the trial over to the jury shortly after 11 a.m. this morning. Now, after nearly 6 hours of deliberations, the jury has yet to reach a verdict. Prosecutors say Tracy Zornes killed Megan Londo and John Cadotte on February 18th, 2010, then set ablaze their basement apartment to destroy evidence.
Defense attorney's say forensic evidence gathered at the apartment does not in any way connect Zornes to the crimes committed. If convicted on the two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, Zornes faces live in prison without parole.
