The next farm bill is being mapped out in Fargo during a 2 day conference. Lawmakers from North Dakota and Minnesota are being joined by leaders from across the nation to detail major changes being proposed to the 2012 Farm Bill. The conference is looking at federal budget limitations, possible cuts to ag programs, and the impact deficit reduction proposals will have on local farmers and ranchers
Senator John Hoeven – (R) North Dakota: ”Crop insurance, right up front, very important. Right now, we're in a situation that crop insurance is not taking the reduction. We think it, not only sustained, but enhanced.
