MAHNOMEN, Minn. (AP) — The Mahnomen (muh-NOH'-min) County sheriff's office is investigating after a bullet struck a pickup during Minnesota's firearms deer opener.
A rural Fosston man reported he was driving in extreme northeast Mahnomen County on Saturday evening when a bullet entered the rear window of his pickup and lodged in a rear door frame.
Investigators interviewed several people in the area and took a rifle as evidence. A bullet recovered from the pickup's rear door matched the caliber of a bullet from the seized rifle.
Authorities say the shooting appears to be hunting related. The case will be turned over to the county attorney's office for possible charges.
