BISMARCK, N.D.s (AP) — A Mandan man has been wounded in a hunting accident on the first day of North Dakota's deer season.

Morton County Sheriff's Capt. Lynn Woodall tells the Bismarck Tribune (bit.ly/tZ2Gcg ) that the 61-year-old man was shot Friday afternoon. He says the man was airlifted to a hospital.
Woodall said he could not release many details about the accident yet.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department also was involved in investigating the accident.
North Dakota's deer season opened at noon Friday across the state.
