NORTHWOOD, N.D. (AP) — Sanford Health is taking over management of a health center in the northeast North Dakota city of Northwood.
The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/tKWl1T ) that ownership is not changing hands but Sanford on Dec. 1 will assume responsibility for business operations at Northwood Deaconess Health Center. The center is owned by 11 Lutheran churches in the area.
The health center includes a 12-bed hospital, a skilled-nursing facility, and assisted-living and independent-living units. It employs more than 200 people.
Sanford Health is based in Fargo, N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D. It also has relationships with several other medical facilities in eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota.
