Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Day 3 of the Tracy Zornes murder trial featured a reluctant girlfriend, testifying under a subpoena and is showing the role drugs may have played in the killings of John Codotte and Megan Londo.
The night of their death, Zornes' girlfriend Elizabeth McPherson received a text from an unknown number. It read, I found 100, 10 milligram hydrocodone pills, are you interested?
When she asked who sent the message, she got a response of "T-Z." and told the court Tracy Zornes is the only person she knows with those initials. The alarming part, is that the cell phone belonged to John Codotte and 35 calls were made between the two that night.
McPherson says she doesn't remember anything because she took up to a dozen Ambien that night. Police say the two met up the following morning and hid-out in a motel.
