PEMBINA, N.D. (AP) — Pembina County's sheriff says the county's lead prosecutor is being investigated by the state.
Sheriff Brian Erovik tells the Grand Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/sZ2E02 ) that the state attorney general's office is investigating State's Attorney Stuart Askew following a petition filed at a County Commission meeting alleging misconduct, lack of diligence and communication, neglect of duties, intimidation and creation of a hostile work environment. Commissioners voted 4-1 to forward the allegations to the state.
Askew did not immediately return a telephone call to The Associated Press on Wednesday seeking comment.
Commissioners aren't commenting since the investigation is ongoing. The attorney general's office isn't confirming or denying the probe.
