Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A key witness says he helped Tracy Zornes the day after he allegedly killed Megan Londo and John Codotte in Moorhead. On the stand yesterday in Clay County, Shannon Wadena says his uncle, Zornes showed up at his trailer in Mahnomen County a day after the murder.

Zornes told Wadena he was scared and didn't know what to do. Wadena told the court that he filled up a gas can for Zornes, then followed Zornes while he drove John Codotte's car to a dirt road.

That's when Zornes set fire to the vehicle. The next day a fire marshal found remnants of a smoke detector in that car. Prosecutors argue it's the same one Zornes allegedly took from Londo and Codotte's apartment.

Another witness from trial says she saw Tracy Zornes with a man and woman outside the Moorhead 3-plex the night before it burned down.
