VCSU improves in NAIA poll, Dakota Wesleyan drops

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Valley City State has moved up one spot in this week's NAIA football coaches' poll, while Dakota Wesleyan has dropped out of the Top 25.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Valley City State has moved up one spot in this week's NAIA football coaches' poll, while Dakota Wesleyan has dropped out of the Top 25.

VCSU is ranked No. 15 after a 28-14 win Saturday over Mayville State. The Vikings finish the regular season this coming Saturday at Robert Morris College in Illinois.

Dakota Wesleyan had been ranked No. 23 but lost to Northwestern of Iowa 34-0 over the weekend. The Tigers host Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday and finish their regular season the following week at Midland University in Nebraska.

VCSU and Dakota Wesleyan have been the only Dakotas teams ranked in the NAIA this season. Saint Xavier of Illinois remains atop the poll for the eighth straight week.
