52 minor consuming charges went out over the weekend, and some of those cited may be in trouble with more than police. If they're students at MSUM they may face charges through its alcohol and drug policy. The policy recognizes problems with the misuse of alcohol and other drugs. The University seeks to create a campus environment that promotes healthy and responsible living. Students conduct officials say there are three different levels of discipline.
Ashley Atteberry – MSUM Student Conduct: “Level one so, typically assigned to a first time violation results in a written warning. We use an online program that we charge students 75 dollars for, and there is a required follow up meeting for our chemical health educator who is on campus.”
Higher levels of punishment could result in a suspension of a semester. Student conduct officials say they should get a report within the week to see if any of their students were involved with the party and citations.
