A drunk driver is behind bars this morning, after running into a house.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A drunk driver is behind bars this morning, after running into a house. It happened around 1:45 this morning.

Police say the driver was eastbound on 16th Avenue north right by where it intersects with Broadway. They say the driver swerved, jumped the curb and tore through this yard before the car came to rest against the home. No one was injured in the accident.

SGT. SHANNON RUZISKA - Fargo Police: “We don't get very many cars hitting houses the houses being pretty far off the roadway, but when you add alcohol and driving together at night you certainly get some different occurrences and this is one of those things that can unfortunately happen to someone.”

Police estimate about 3 to 5 thousand dollars in damage was done to the yard, home and vehicle.
