Jury selection begins in Zornes trial

Clay County, MN (WDAY TV) - Lawyers and a judge are starting the process of narrowing a pool of more than 80 potential jurors to hear the murder trial of Tracy Zornes in Clay County.

Lawyers and a judge are starting the process of narrowing a pool of more than 80 potential jurors to hear the murder trial of Tracy Zornes in Clay County. The Judge says the selection process will take at least 3 days, with opening arguments Thursday at the earliest. but, it could take much longer.

The 38 year-old Zornes, is accused of killing Megan Londo and John Cadotte on February 19th, last year and setting fire to their apartment where their burned bodies were found. Cadotte's car was found badly burned on a dirt road in rural Mahnomen County 2-days after the killings, and Zornes, was found by authorities March 4th in a makeshift shelter in the woods in rural Mahnomen County. 12 jurors and three alternates will be chosen. The trial could last three to four weeks.
