Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Students and faculty at Concordia College get a lesson on bio-diversity and how nature can help us. Dr. Aaron Bernstein, a faculty member at Harvard, spoke on the topic. One point, he makes, is we as humans tend to believe we are independent from nature. Bernstein says nature plays a significant role finding cures and medicine to fight diseases. He says, “looking to nature for understanding how to make drugs because of course, because making this in a lab synthetically is extremely difficult, not necessarily because getting the abs together is hard, but getting them to shape in the right three dimensional space.” One example, medicine made from a species found in Easter Islands helps transplant patients.
