PHOENIX (AP) — Police say that 46 people were arrested for criminal trespassing in Phoenix following a weekend anti-Wall Street rally.
Saturday's arrests came hours after anti-Wall Street protesters gathered in Phoenix and Tucson as part of a series of protests across the country against financial institutions.
Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says protesters marched from a downtown rally at Cesar Chavez Plaza to Margaret T. Hance Park on Saturday evening. The park has a posted 10:30 p.m. closing time.
Crump says some protesters refused to leave and officers moved in to clear the park, resulting in 46 arrests for misdemeanor criminal trespass. No injuries were reported.
