The campaign of North Dakota Democrat Heidi Heitkamp's said Friday she raised just under $500,000 for her U.S. Senate bid in the final quarter of 2011.
A familiar name in North Dakota politics is considering a run for US Senate. Heidi Heitkamp says she'll decide in the next 30 days. Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad is stepping down next year, and North Dakota Democrats don't have a candidate for his seat. Congressman Rick Berg and Bismarck businessman Duane Sand want the GOP endorsement. The 55 year-old Heitkamp hasn't run for statewide office since she lost a race for governor in 2000.
