Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Locked out American Crystal Sugar union workers are not alone in their fight to get their jobs back. Other union workers are rallying around those locked out workers.
It is clear union workers stand by one another in good times and bad.
Members from other unions in our area, protested on the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Fargo Moorhead to show their support for locked out American Crystal Sugar workers. One of those members lending her support is Cindy Antonson.
CINDY: It is extremely important for me to support other union workers. I look at every union here as being part of a family.
Antonson wants management to realize that when you have a happy work force, you have a more productive work force.
CINDY: We come together, we support each other we want what's best for the american worker, we want what's best for the American family.
Antonson says people have a lot of misconceptions about the lockout.
CINDY: There has been some misunderstandings about that, i've heard people saying that you know the workers are on strike, they aren't on strike, they were locked out of there jobs. It would be like if you showed up to work tomorrow and the door was locked.
Locked out Union Crystal Sugar workers say having the support from all of these other unions makes difficult times like these much easier knowing that they aren't alone.
TONY (Union member, Moorhead Factory): It's a great show of solidarity, you know and it keeps the people aware that we have a lot of people that are locked out of work right now and have a lot of families that aren't bringing home a pay check.
With the lock out in it's third month, St.Michel says the help from these other union members isn't going unnoticed.
TONY: It is heart warming to see all of these people coming out supporting us because we are the last stand here
St.Michel hopes this protest will bring American Crystal officials back to the drawing board to come up with another deal.
Nearly eight unions showed up to protest.
