Silvernail found guilty, sentenced to life in prison

Just moments after a 12 person jury found him guilty of 1st degree pre-meditated murder and 2nd degree intentional murder tonight, a judge sentenced Jeffrey Silvernail to life in prison without the possibility of parole. It took jurors just over four hours to convict the 46 year old Wahpeton man for killing his ex-girlfriend Lori Roberts in her Doran, Minnesota home in October of 2009. The couple broke up just days before the murder. She died of gunshots to her chest and chin. Silvernail was the last person to see Roberts alive, and was the one to call 911 to report her death.
