Bhutanese community in Fargo grows and celebrates

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) --The Bhutanese community in Fargo comes together to celebrate its culture.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) --The Bhutanese community in Fargo comes together to celebrate its culture. The annual Bhutanese Cultural program included music and native folk songs. It's a way for members of the small community to preserve their culture. Program leaders say they wanted an celebration where they can come together in one place to just have fun. Bhutanese Community President of Fargo, Raj Chhetri, says, “This festival has been practiced since long time, since our great great grandfathers have been celebrating this festival, so at least this is very important to us.” In 2008, the Fargo Bhutanese community had only 129 people. Now, it’s grown to 576.
