Opening arguments to begin in Silvernail trial

Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) - Opening arguments will start tomorrow morning in the Jeffrey Silvernail murder trial in Wilkin County.

Opening arguments will start tomorrow morning in the Jeffrey Silvernail murder trial in Wilkin County. After 5 days of questioning a 12 person jury has been seated with 2 alternates. Silvernail is accused of shooting his estranged girlfriend, Lori Roberts. He faces both first and second-degree murder charges. If convicted on the first-degree charge, Silvernail will face a mandatory prison term of life without chance for parole. The trial is slated to last through the end of next week.
