BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A 40-year-old North Dakota woman previously convicted of nine felonies has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for possessing a firearm.
U.S. District Court Judge Daniel L. Hovland also sentenced Alicia Kay Estabrook, of Bismarck to three years of probation for the firearms charge. Estabrook pleaded guilty on March 17.
Authorities say Estabook obtained a .22-caliber revolver in the Bismarck area and transported it to the Belcourt area, where another person took possession of it.
Estabrook was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of her nine previous felony convictions. She had faced a maximum penalty of life in prison for possessing the firearm.
