Only half of kids killed or injured in car accidents are properly restrained. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, far too many parents are not securing their children in car seats properly or using booster seats. This week is Child Passenger Safety week in Minnesota, and DPS officials urge parents, or any person responsible for driving with kids to get more information on how to travel with kids more safely. In Minnesota three out of four child restraints are used incorrectly.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow: “The leading cause of death for children under the age of eight is traffic crashes, and again it is another reason why we need to be up on you know what is the law, what is safe.”
