The Minnesota State Patrol says 19-year-old Jason Stevens of Rochester died Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle on westbound Interstate 94 shortly after midnight.
Stevens was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he later died. Circumstances surrounding the fatal injuries have not yet been released.
A State Patrol spokesman tells the Star Tribune that no driver has come forward yet to claim responsibility.
Augsburg College President Paul C. Pribbenow sent a Facebook message Wednesday saying the college is "deeply saddened" by Stevens' death. A gathering to celebrate Stevens' life is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. Thursday at the Augsburg chapel.
