Jury selection to begin today for Wahpeton man charged with murder

Doran, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Jury selection is slated to begin today in the trial of a Wahpeton man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in her Doran, Minnesota home. 45-year old Jeffrey Silvernail is facing murder charges in the shooting death of Lori Roberts, 2 years ago.

Jury selection is expected to take 2 days, while attorneys interview 30 potential jurors. Silvernail was arrested in May of 2010 after a lengthy police investigation. During which, family members of the victim, 49-year old Roberts, were vocal saying Silvernail was the one responsible.

The arrest came after police received results of forensic testing, including a blood spot on Silvernail's pants.
