MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A former treasurer of the Minot Swim Club is accused of embezzling more than $10,000 from the organization over a four-year period.
The Minot Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/q3TQg6 ) that 37-year-old Melody Sundbakken allegedly wrote unauthorized checks to herself on the swim club's account and took cash from deposits and fundraisers, beginning in July 2007.
A telephone listing for Sundbakken could not immediately be found. She is due in court Sept. 27 on the felony charge that carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
