Orchard Park, NY (WDAY Sports) - We're less than 24 hours from a historic moment in the life of Oakes native Phil Hansen. He's set to become the 27th member of the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame. Our own Dom Izzo has this report from Ralph Wilson Stadium in New York.
Welcome to Orchard Park, NY, the home of the Buffalo Bills where tomorrow at this time, Oakes native and Bison legend Phil Hansen will have his name up on the Bills Wall of Fame. I asked Phil about this accomplishment, now actually becoming a reality.
Phil Hansen: “This was out of left field, out of the blue. I thought my best awards had passed me by. This is something pretty special, for a guy who never made a Pro Bowl, I was in Buffalo 11 years, started all 11 years, lunch pail guy. For me to get this award, it's for the kind of people that live in Buffalo, blue collar people.”
