Woman killed by falling tree

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota woman has died after she was crushed by a falling tree.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department says 80-year-old Florance Soland died while helping family members cut firewood on Saturday west of Vergas, near Detroit Lakes.

The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/no9mcP) says Soland was pronounced dead at the scene.
