A Fergus Falls man who has a long criminal history is being charged with a felony: Window Peeping.

Police say 28 year old Taylor Gehrking was spotted by the victim, peering into her window. The girl told police he was wearing a yellow shirt. That shirt was later found after a search of his apartment the following day. He was charged with two counts of misdemeanor indecent exposure earlier last week.

Michelle Eldien – Assistant Otter Tail County Attorney: “Personally my first step was to just make sure he was held on condition to protect the victim here and also other people in the community, obviously this was more than one incident so just to make sure that he is not floating around and living on his own where he can go into other peoples homes or attempt to do that.”

All of the 13 separate cases in which he was charged with indecent exposure were either dismissed or acquitted because of mental illness claims. Aldien says this felony charge will allow the court system to keep a closer eye on Gehrking.
