Victim identified in Fargo stabbing

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The people involved in a fatal stabbing over the weekend in South Fargo have been questioned and released by police.

The people involved in a fatal stabbing over the weekend in South Fargo have been questioned and released by police. The victim has been identified as 28 year old Tremaine Lynn Settles. Police say he has no permanent address. The incident happened around 1:30 Sunday morning at 2608 Pacific Drive in Fargo. Police say when they arrived they found Settles with a stab wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Charges could be filed after the investigation is brought to the states attorney, but as of now, no one has been arrested or charged.

Lt. Joel Vettel: There is sometimes instances where someone dies violently, that even though they do die violently people aren't charged for a crime related to that incident there's a number of reasons why people would not be charged in those types of circumstances.”

Police say Settles and the man he was fighting with have a history.
