Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Kids in Minnesota will be heading back to the classroom tomorrow. And as bus stops fill up.... the Moorhead Police Department will be out and about.... enforcing school speed zones and making sure students cross the road safely. They will also be enforcing distracted driving laws like cell phone texting and seat belt violations. Chris Carey of the Moorhead Police says, “we want the traveling public to be aware of the increased pedestrian traffic, the increased vehicular traffic, we are trying to promote safety. We are going to be focusing on school safety zones, the speed zones throughout them.” Police officials say driving laws will be strictly enforced due to the danger that these violations present to children.
