81 Year Old Lakota Woman Killed in Crash

An 81 year old Lakota woman is dead after a crash Friday night. It happened at Highway 2 and Main Street just outside Lakota. The victim's car pulled out in front of a pickup. That pickup smashed into the driver's door of the car, killing the woman. Her name hasn't been released. An 80 year old passenger was airlifted to a Fargo Hospital.

SGT. Dolf Oldenburg – ND Highway Patrol: "Typically on this kind of a weekend- memorial day or any other holiday, we normally see an increase in traffic, you know on the beginning of the weekend and towards the end. Yesterday was a very busy day for us as far as traffic volume on highway two."

Two teenagers in the pickup were injured.
