BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have captured a man suspected of killing a Belfield woman.

Belfield Police Chief Joe Schmidt tells The Bismarck Tribune that 41-year-old Dirk Huber was apprehended Friday afternoon in a wilderness area north of Medora, near where he had earlier been spotted.

Billings County Sheriff Dave Jurgens said Huber was unarmed at the time of his arrest. He is being held at a corrections center in Dickinson.

Huber was charged this week with murdering 39-year-old Nicole Lynn Radebaugh. Her body was discovered on Aug. 30. She and Huber had a daughter together.

Court documents said Huber confessed to killing Radebaugh to one person, and then apologized to his eighth-grade daughter for hurting her mother.
