Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY Sports) - Earlier this week, one of the most successful baseball professionals to come out of the area called it a career. Dom Izzo tells us tonight how Fargo native Chris Coste is gearing up for the next phase of his life as an assistant coach with his Alma Mater.

Chris Coste got to experience everything you'd want to in the majors in four short years. A Home run off a Hall of Famer, being on the field clinching a playoff berth, then a World Championship. His life has now taken him from the backstop to the dugout, a role he says suits him well.

Chris Coste - New Concordia Assistant Coach: “I always thought I'd be a good communicator as a catcher you have to be.”

Coste's brain will be picked by the Cobbers, who have wanted to get the former Redhawk into the dugout for years.

Dr. Larry Papenfuss - Concordia Athletic Director: “It's been an ongoing dream to see if we could add him to the staff always hinged on me playing.”

And as Coste has realized his playing days are over, he also knows this can be the final job of his career.

“Bucky's been a father figure for me.”

But for a catcher, there's no place like home.
